Hello everyone,
Thank you all for the huge number of sightings that were recorded last month – great stuff! Please keep them coming in!
This month we will also be running the next kererū count (Saturday 18th July to Sunday 26th of July) – this is slightly different from the kererū sightings as it is a more structure count for 15 minutes where both presence and absence of kererū are recorded. Recording your zeros is really important as it can help us to understand where kererū are not occurring in the city. It also means that people who don’t regularly see kererū can take part - all you need is a garden or a nearby park and a spare 15 minutes – for more details and to sign up have a look at the kererū count page here.
All the best,
Alice
